AP Calculus AB or BC exam: test score of 3 or higher. Earned the scores below on an Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) test:. Completed Calculus I or above with a C- or better at a college or university or high school for dual credit (twelve month time limit does not apply). Completed a college-level math course (level 100 or above) at a college, university or high school (for dual credit) within the past 12 months with a grade of C- or better. Completed Mth 095 or equivalent course at a college, university or high school (for dual credit) within the past 12 months with a grade of C- or better. You do not need to take the math placement test if you meet any of the following criteria: Determine If You Need to Take the Math Placement Test Information is available online on May 20. There will also be an information session Thursday morning of New Student Orientation.The placement test is designed to assess your mathematics skills and assist you and your academic adviser in selecting the most appropriate courses to sign up for at PSU. If you think you may choose to major or minor in music, you should take this exam during the summer because it helps determine which music courses you need to take. ☑ Music Theory and Aural Skills Exam - Optional Students with results that suggest placement into the 202-level or above will be required to confirm this placement during New Student Orientation. Instructions and additional information for assessment in Arabic, Classical Greek, Latin, and Russian are also available at this link. Online assessment for Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish can be accessed at go./world_languages/placement. The world languages placement will be available by May 20. If you have previously studied one of these languages but have not earned transfer credit, you should complete an assessment for placement. Lewis & Clark College has a three-semester world languages requirement and offers courses in Arabic, Chinese, Classical Greek, French, German, Japanese, Latin, Russian, and Spanish. The Office of the Registrar records the scores, and you can see them in WebAdvisor by following the directions on page 3. Access the placement and get more information at go./mathematical/placement. 
The placement will be available online starting May 20. Before taking (or retaking) the exam, students must complete at least eight hours of study with the relevant learning modules, and twelve hours are recommended.
CLARK EDU MATH PLACEMENT REGISTRATION
Students often score significantly higher after retaking the exam, so do not wait until right before registration to take the placement for the first time. Most students take the ALEKS twice over the summer-once to get familiar with the exam and again after reviewing the relevant learning module.
You have completed a transfer course in Mathematics equivalent to the college’s QR-101 level or higher (see your Official Statement of Transfer Credit from the Registrar’s Office). You have an IB Mathematics Higher Level score of 5, 6, or 7. You have an AP Calculus AB or BC score of 4 or 5. Prior to registration, all incoming students must take the online ALEKS Mathematical Placement in order to meet this prerequisite, unless one of the following applies: Many natural science and social science courses also have this prerequisite. (Placement for Scientific and Quantitative Reasoning Courses) Lewis & Clark College requires all students to take three Scientific and Quantitative Reasoning (SQR) courses, at least one of which has an algebraic proficiency prerequisite.
